Eva H. Nova is a Bulgarian-Canadian author, playwright, psychologist, and hypnotherapist, as well as the founder of a publishing house in Bulgaria. Her debut novel and play Train received national and international awards, and her children’s plays have been performed in over 30 Bulgarian cities.
Her writing explores the intersection of literature, psychology, philosophy, and metaphysics, blending imagination with reality and unconventional perspectives.
Eva’s favourite time of day is the hour before dawn. She says that it is at this mysterious threshold, a liminality of sorts between darkness and light, that it feels as if the world holds its breath to see what is possible… And ultimately, anything is possible.
Eva loves to write at this hour, when thoughts drift between dreams and reality, and it is as if words emerge from somewhere else… There is something almost eternal about this moment, when time seems to pause, everything is calm and quiet, and the world feels almost like a secret.
Eventually, the light will conquer the night and make everything visible, but something has already happened before dawn.
As Eva says: “Somewhere in a tiny, magical flat, someone wrote something before dawn, and some things will be different today…”
